Bright yellow Secla salt and pepper shakers. Made in Portugal by Secla in the 1950’s. These were purchased from an estate sale in Muncie, Indiana, in early 2025.

According to Worthpoint, “SECLA Portugal opened Estúdio SECLA, a pottery studio in the 1950’s. It employed modern ceramic artists such as Ferreira da Silva, Ian Hird, Julio Pomar, and António Quadro, and Hansi Staël.

In 1990, SECLA Portugal had over 700 employees. During the 1990s, inexpensive Asian imports negatively impacted the company’s finances. Production ceased in June 2008.”Made in Portugal.

Some crazing given use over time. There are a few production imperfections due to the manufacturing process, please see images for detail.
