Vintage Secla Citron Yellow Cabbage Leaf Soup Cereal Bowl 7 1/8"
Vintage bright citron yellow cabbage leaf bowls, perfect for soup, cereal, salad even candy, were made in Portugal by Secla in the 1950’s. Minor imperfections due to manufacturing process, each one is one of a kind. Some crazing but no chips or cracks. Images show details.
These were purchased from an estate sale in Muncie, Indiana in early 2025. Happy to send additional images, if needed.
According to Worthpoint, “SECLA Portugal opened Estúdio SECLA, a pottery studio in the 1950’s. It employed modern ceramic artists such as Ferreira da Silva, Ian Hird, Julio Pomar, and António Quadro, and Hansi Staël.
In 1990, SECLA Portugal had over 700 employees. During the 1990s, inexpensive Asian imports negatively impacted the company’s finances. Production ceased in June 2008.”
